Submersible
Motors
The single and three phase
submersible motors used are of well know international brands.
As they are standardised, the motors are perfectly
interchangeable so maintenance and repairs are greatly
simplified.
The motors are of the
asynchronous type with water cooled stator winding. The
rotor is mounted on anti-wear bearings and axial thrust is
absorbed by an amply dimensioned tilting pad thrust bearing.
An elastic diaphragm
compensates variations in the pressure of the cooling water as
it heats up during operation.
The liquid inside the motor
greatly reduces the need for maintenance because, as well as
guaranteeing the lubrication of the rotating parts, it helps
cool the motor due to heat exchange with the surrounding well
water.
The external casing allows this
type of motor to be used with certain types of aggressive
waters.
The supply cables are protected
by special stainless steel guards along the full length of the
hydraulic part.
