Disc
& Screen Filters
For optimum
performance, a drip irrigation system must be provided with clean
water. An adequate filtration process is an absolute
requirement because rarely is a natural water supply free of
suspended material: filtration is the heart of every
successful drip tape system.
Disc
Filters
Disc filters are excellent for removing both particles (hard
materials) and organic matter.
A disc filter consists of a stack of round grooved discs. Both
faces of each disc are covered with grooves. A close up view
of the grooves shows that each has a sharp top.
The discs have tiny spaces between them when stacked together.
The water is forced between the discs and the particles and organic
matter are blocked by the sharp top of the grooves.
The clean water flows through the stacks disc out of the filter.
Discs have excellent resistance to most common chemicals used in the
irrigation system.
Screen
Filters
Raw water passes through the screen
During the filtration process particles are blocked by the screen
